You are striving to create more peace and harmony in your life and have been told meditation is a great way to do this, but every time you sit down to try it, your brain kicks in with all those little mundane items that just can’t seem to wait until another time.
Whether it’s the shopping list, what you’re having for dinner that night, or other life trivia that stops you from relaxing into your meditation, you just can’t seem to calm your mind enough to get to that great place of peace and harmony you have heard so much about.
It’s frustrating and leads to thoughts like “If this is meditation then what’s so great about it?”.
So What Now?
Maybe you’ve put some gentle soothing sounds on the stereo.
Maybe you’ve tried different sound tracks but your mind is still louder than anything else in the room.
What you need is a complete distraction, one that your mind can’t argue with, one that your body can’t refuse, one that will awaken your senses and still allow you to find that inner peace that comes from meditation.
Movement in Meditation
It is known that when you move your body to music, especially drums, your mind is taken into an altered state of consciousness and you can meditate and journey within the sounds.
There are many ways to meditate and if you find sitting still is not for you then why not try a bit of movement.
Sharing the Dance
I am going to share with you a special meditation of drum and voice that will allow you to experience the movement and dance within the energy of the meditation.
This rhythm came to me when I was working with Spirit one day and I found myself beginning to sway, then I got up and started to dance to the beat, flowing with the sensation of the drums and the vibrations they were creating within the earth beneath my feet.
As I danced, I felt my body awaken and spirit flow through me, and afterwards I was left feeling peaceful and alive, as if I had just spent some time in meditation.
The Journey Begins
Let the drums take you and let the words of the Medicine Women guide you as you experience meditation through dance.
What’s been your journey with Spirit and are they in your life today?
Do you meditation and struggle to stay focused within the meditation?
Do you find movement and drumming can make meditation more, just more, for you?
